Richard “Rick” DiDomizio of Ossining, NY, passed away on January 6, 2025, at the age of 72. Born on April 24, 1952, in Ossining, NY, Rick was the beloved son of the late Anthony and Camille (Manco) DiDomizio.
Rick was a former resident of Croton-on-Hudson and graduated from Croton-Harmon High School in 1970. In 1971, he was drafted into the National Guard and served until 1977. He was also co-owner of a popular restaurant called the Swizzle in Croton, where many gathered for good food, drinks and laughs.
Rick retired in early 2020 as a Concierge at Westage Towers in White Plains, NY, where he made lasting relationships and was known for his dedication and warmth toward the residents and staff. His passion for people and his innate kindness left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered.
Rick was a loving brother to Diane Franzoso (Mark) and Linda Vasta. He adored his nieces and nephews, Brian Nolan, Jessica Owens (Matthew), Christopher Vasta (Corinne), and Amanda Ruiz (Luis), as well as his cherished great-nieces, Olivia Owens and Camilla Vasta. He was also a dear friend to Frank Orfei and his wife, Gail, and their children, Adam and Gabrielle. Rick's large extended family of cousins and friends will also deeply miss his humor, storytelling, and genuine spirit.
He had an appreciation for Italian traditions, often gathering with family to make sauce and share wine, while enjoying the company of his loved ones. He loved to plan and cook his own original and traditional recipes from his childhood. He also enjoyed his daily walk, especially during the autumn season.
Rick’s memory will live on through his family and friends, who will continue to share stories, laughter, and a martini in his honor.
A public visitation will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025, from 3-7 PM at Edward F. Carter Funeral Home, 41 Grand St., Croton-on-Hudson, NY 10520. A private family service will take place on Saturday.
