Alice Judith Mitchell

Alice J. Mitchell, age 61, of Hammond, IN passed away Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at the William Riley Hospice House, Munster, IN with her family by her side. She was born February 6, 1949 in Chicago, IL to Frederick & Martha (nee Hartley) Boles. She graduated with the Class of 1967 from Eisenhower High School in Blue Island, IL. She married William Mitchell on May 11, 1968 and he survives. Alice will be remembered for being a loving homemaker who cherished her family. She was also passionate about fishing, hunting and cooking and was a Chicago Cubs fan forever. Alice is survived by her husband of 42 years, William. Two sons: Steven Mitchell and Paul (Carol) Mitchell. A brother: Frederick (Juanita) Boles. Four sisters: Marlene (Dave) Rusler; Beverly (late Dean) Zimmerman; Martha (Jim) Pulver and Betty (Don) Penn. Her three precious grandchildren: Elizabeth, Jacquelyn and Paul Jr. She was preceded in death by her brothers: Bob and Tom Boles and a sister Margaret McMillan. There will be a visitation for Alice on Sunday, December 5, 2010 from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, Schererville, IN. Funeral service will begin at 5:00 PM on Sunday, December 5, 2010 with Pastor Freda Scales officiating. Interment will be at a later time in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, IN.
