Allen Jerome Cepko, age 82, of Cedar Lake, Indiana passed away on Monday, June 28, 2021. Allen was born December 7, 1938 in Chicago, IL to Augusta and Clement Cepko. Allen was a graduate of CVS High School; and attended the University of Illinois. He went into the US Marine Corps from 1958 - 1964 and was honorably discharged as a Lance Corporal. Allen enjoyed gardening, collecting stamps, coins, and toys - particularly Goofy and Laurel & Hardy items. In his younger days he umpired and coached little league baseball. He enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs baseball team. Allen loved his wife's cooking and baking; especially her desserts. One of his most favorite things to do, was spending time with his grandchildren and playing Santa Claus on Christmas. Allen was preceded in death by his parents Augusta and Clement Cepko and daughter Julie. Allen is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Marcia Cepko; daughter Kathryn (Thomas) Tarnowski; and son Michael (Eileen) Cepko; brother Robert (late Margaret) Cepko and sister Joyce (Jeff Justak) Duda; six grandchildren David Cepko, Jennifer Cepko, Scott (Kara) Cepko, Eric Tarnowski, Christopher Tarnowski, Alex Tarnowski; and one great grandson Chase Cepko and a host of other relatives and friends. Allen will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. A visitation for Allen will be held on Sunday, July 11, 2021 from 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm. Followed by a Funeral Service at 4:30 pm at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home 8178 Cline Avenue Crown Point, IN 46307.
