Alma Elizabeth Richards

ALMA ELIZABETH RICHARDS HAMMOND, IN Alma Elizabeth Richards, age 96, of Hammond, passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2011. She is survived by three children: Patsey Cole of Griffith, Peggy (John) McCulloch of Schererville, and Terry (Randy) Drummond of Hebron; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; two sisters: Willa Helen Moorman of Fordsville, KY and Sadie (David) Parker of Highland, IN; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Richards was preceded in death by her husband, Rex Richards; and daughter, Betty Dye. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 29, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 S. Cline Ave., Schererville (one half mile south of U.S. 30) with Pastor David Parker officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Thursday from 11:30 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Mrs. Richards was a member of Hoffman Street Baptist Church of Hammond and taught Sunday School for 70 years. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Richards enjoyed quilting and crafts. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Alma's loving memory to the church.
