Ann A Holmes Eland

Ann A. Eland, age 92, of Griffith, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2013. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Edward L. Eland; son, David (Darleen) Kallas of Hammond; five daughters: Mary (late Neal) Bannister of Schererville, Carol Hoyne of Crown Point, Wilma (David) Young of OR, Debra (Kenneth) Thiel of Griffith, and Dawn (Greg) Farmer of IL; daughter-in-law, Colleen (Kay) Kallas; two step daughters: Elayne Britton of Griffith and Bettye (David) Noblet of NV; grandmother of 22; step grandmother of three, great grandmother of 47; step great grandmother of three. Also survived by several great-great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her daughter, Beverly Edmonson; son, Adrian "Sonny" Kallas; grandson, Howard "Howie" Hutchinson; step grandson, Sean Noblet; and siblings: Rudy DiMichele, Jack Petty, Harry Petty, Mary Uylaki, and Phyllis Koonce. Ann was an exceptional wife and devoted loving mother. She dedicated her life to her family. The lord was her strength and she will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 1, 2013, 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 Cline Ave., Schererville, with Pastor John Brewer officiating. Interment Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Thursday, January 31, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
