Anthony J Pollard

Anthony J. Pollard, age 93, of Portage, IN passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 4, 2021. Anthony was born May 7, 1928 in Hammond, IN to the late Anthony and Theira Belle (Williams) Pollard. Also preceding him in death is his wife of 69 years, Barbara Pollard; two sons, John Paul Pollard, Keith Gale Pollard; and daughter-in-law, Beverly Ann Pollard.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Kevin (Kathy) Pollard, Jeffrey (Rosemary) Pollard, and Janelle Pollard; 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Anthony served his country honorably in the United States Army and worked as a Millwright at Inland Steel until the time of his retirement. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and was a foster father for 108 newborn babies. He cared and loved foster babies, for their first time when born until the time of their adoption. His impact will remain with all those he cared for. Anthony was a faithful member of First Christian Church of Hessville and will be truly missed by those who knew him.

Memorial Visitation will take place on Saturday, October 16, 2021 from 4:00 PM until the time of his memorial service at 6:30 PM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Ave., Crown Point, IN 46307.
