With deep love and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Antonia Maldonado, a cherished mother, grandmother, and sister. Born on August 21, 1953, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Antonia brought light and strength into the world from the very beginning. At the age of 11, she journeyed to Chicago, where she built a life full of love, purpose, and resilience.
Antonia was the embodiment of beauty—inside and out. She was a proud, talented, and a fiercely independent woman who devoted her life to her family and career. Her spirit was unmatched—strong, passionate, and deeply loving. As one of Chicago’s finest cosmetologists— a gifted artist —she made those around her feel seen, confident, and beautiful.
She is survived by her five beloved children, Blanca Iris Bayser, Victor Jesus Gomez Lee, Anthony Gomez, Adam Louis Gomez, and Rebecca Marie Rodriguez. Her legacy lives on in her 20 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, all of whom were the pride and joy of her life. She also leaves behind her loving sister, Brunilda Hernandez, and her devoted brother, Andres Rivera.
Antonia’s love, wisdom, and memory will continue to guide her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her laughter, creativity, and unwavering devotion will be remembered forever.
Her family invites all who loved her to celebrate the extraordinary life of a woman whose beauty radiated from her heart and soul.
Forever in our hearts, never forgotten.
Burial at RoseHill Cemetery, 5800 North Ravenswood Avenue, Chicago, IL 60660, on May 9th, 2025 at 2:00 pm.
