Bernard M. McShane

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Grace McShane; daughters, Peggy (Harry) Maisel, Susan (John) Messaglia, Sharon (Louie) Fioretti and Janet (Reno) Caldanaro; grandchildren, Christina (Patrick) Fulton, Angela, John and Gianna Messaglia, Dominic, Nick, Sam and Vince Fioretti, Carly, Julia and Anna Maisel, Gabrielle, Anthony and Mia Caldanaro; great-grandchildren, June, Frankie and Gracie Fulton; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Loretta and Dolores.

Barney was born on September 30, 1935 to Bernard and Cornelia McShane in Chicago, IL. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army. He married the love of his life, Grace Gattone, on February 17, 1962 and together they raised four daughters. Barney retired from Illinois Bell with 35 years of service. He enjoyed golfing, playing the guitar, and spending time with his grandchildren. Barney was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will truly be missed by all whose lives he touched.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 10:30am at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church (1 W. Wilhelm St. Schererville, IN) with Rev. Benjamin Ross officiating.

Interment to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, IN.
