Bruce H. Young

BRUCE H. YOUNG DYER, IN Bruce H. Young, age 60, of Dyer, IN passed away December 9, 2013 at the William Riley Hospice of Munster. Bruce was born October 17, 1953 in Chicago, IL to the late Harold and Dorothy (Bryant) Young. On July 14, 1979, he married his wife of 34 years, Billie Jo Holt. Mrs. Billie Jo Young survives in Dyer. Also surviving are his children: Jonathan (Jennifer) Young of Cedar Lake, Sarah Young of Ft. Lawn, SC, and Timothy Young of Dyer; his brother, Bryan (Kim) Young of St. Louis, MO. Mr. Young was a 1972 Lake Central Graduate. He then received his Bachelor’s Degree in 1976, and then his Master’s Degree from Ball State University in Muncie. Bruce was a member of Lake Hills Baptist Church where he served as deacon and worked with the AWANA Boys. He was a loving and devoted husband and father, who will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 13, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Lake Hills Baptist Church, 9209 W. 85th Ave., Schererville, IN 46375. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Thursday December 12, 2013 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Ave., Schererville, IN 46375. Burial will be at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lake Hills Baptist Church or Baptist Children’s Home 354 West Street, Valparaiso, IN 46383.
