CECILIA M. KRACHENFELS HAMMOND, IN Cecilia M. Krachenfels (nee Kostecki), age 76, of Hammond, passed away Thursday, September 20, 2012. She is survived by her three children: James (Laurie) Krachenfels, Michael Krachenfels, and Mark (Kimberly) Krachenfels; five grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Tyler, Adam, Ryan, and Emily; brother, Walter (Donna) Kostecki; sister, Terry Chmiel; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Krachenfels was preceded in death by her husband, John. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church, 8303 Taft St., Merrillville, IN. Friends are invited to meet with the family Monday, September 24, 2012 from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Ave. (one-half mile south of US 30) Schererville, IN (prayer service 4:30 p.m.) with Rev. Peter Muha officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville. Mrs. Krachenfels was a member of Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church of Merrillville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Cecilia's loving memory to St. Anthony Hospice of Crown Point.
