Charles Amaya, Jr.

Charles was born January 2, 1931, in San Antonio to the late Carlos and Francis Amaya. He worked at St. Margaret's Hospital for 21+ years. He enjoyed watching old westerns, fishing, grilling in his backyard, and taking the family on road trips in the van. Most of all, Charles loved spending time with his wife, Sara.

He was preceded by his parents, Carlos and Francis Amaya; his sisters, Helen Amaya White, and Olga Amaya Gutierrez; his son, Gary Lee Amaya; and his step-daughter, Ramona Casey.

He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Sara Amaya; his daughter, Francis Carmona Amaya; and his step-daughter, Regina Smith. He was the loving grandfather of Michelle Smith, Angela Smith, Christopher Smith, and Samantha (Nick) Barango; and great-granddaughter, Anastasia Rosegay.

A visitation for Charles will be held Friday March 7, 2025 from 11:00 am until time of service at 1:00 pm at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307. Burial will take place at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
