Charles Joseph Broomhead
December 29, 1937 – July 31, 2022

Charles J. Broomhead, age 84 of Demotte, In, formerly of Cedar Lake In., passed away peacefully on July 31, 2022.
Charles is the loving husband to the late Doris Broomhead; beloved father to Charles H Broomhead and Christine Broomhead; step-father to Cindy (Lyle) Freeman, Kathleen (Marshall) DePew, Debra (Mark) Dresser, Robert (Elizabeth) Plews, and Patricia Nees; proud grandfather to Charles Glen Broomhead, Deanna Drieling, Rachel A Broomhead, and Steven Casey Broomhead; step-grandfather to many others; cherished brother to Sonny Broomhead, Mickey Houston, Kelly Aguilar and Jeffrey Walsh; uncle to several. He also leaves behind , his special friend Joy and others who loved and cared for him during his long illness, Diane, Mary, Pete, Mark and many other family members and friends.
Charles proudly served in the United States Navy on the USS Intrepid. He retired after 30 years of service to Westphal’s Heating and Air Conditioning as a metal worker.
He also love nature and was considered the Blue Bird Man for his love Blue Birds and pursued in bring the birds back to this area.
Graveside services to be held August 20, 2022 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens located at 8178 Cline Ave, Crown Point, In at 1:00 pm.
A Celebration of Life and remembrance (Pot Luck Dinner) will be at 4:30 following the service. Located at Roselawn United Methodist Church, 9762 N Ahlgrim St in Roselawn. Phone:(219) 345-3408
