IN THE CARE OF
Chapel Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens
Charlotte Ann Kriss, age 83, of Crown Point, IN passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2019 surrounded by family at her home in Crown Point, IN.
She was born on July 11, 1935 to the late Theodore Fite and Agnes Harriet (Barlow) Randall in Birmingham, AL.
To know her was to love her. Charlotte Ann had a keen sense of humor and a smile that could light up an entire room. Her contagious laugh and quick-witted jokes are just a couple of the things that made her so very special.
Whether she was watching Judge Judy or General Hospital, or enjoying a good book while sipping a martini, she found a way to slow down and enjoy the simple things that helped her live life to the fullest. On Sundays in the fall, you could always find her wearing her Chicago Bears jersey and cheering on her favorite team. Even when the Bears weren’t doing too well on the field, Charlotte was their #1 fan.
Family was very important to Charlotte. She was so proud of each of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Being born a southern girl, Charlotte really enjoyed any chance she had to take a road trip down south to visit family and reminisce about the old days. Visiting her Auntie and Uncle Ronnie in Collegedale, Tennessee was her absolute favorite childhood memory.
Charlotte’s kind spirit and zest for life will live on through her family and friends.
She is survived by her loving children, Dawn (Steve) Nagy; Randall “Randy” (Megan) Kriss; step-daughter, Peggy (Michael) Casey; son-in-law, Ralph Parisi; ten grandchildren, Charisse (Brian) Webber, Jason Parisi, Greg Nagy, Michael Casey, Kevin Casey, Ashley Parisi, Blake Nagy, Kaitlyn Kriss, Colin Kriss, Connor Kriss; two great-grandchildren, Kara Webber and Gage Webber.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Agnes Randall; first husband, Gerald Pekelsma; second husband, Michael Kriss; and daughter, Sharon Parisi.
Family and friends will be received from 2PM-8 PM on Sunday, April 28, 2019 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Ave. Crown Point, IN 46307.
A Memorial Prayer Service in Charlotte’s honor will be held at 6PM on Sunday, April 28, 2019 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. Pastor Mark Wilkinson will be officiating. A celebration of life will continue in Birmingham, Alabama at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, friends may make donations to the Hospice of the Calumet Area in Charlotte’s Name - 600 Superior Drive, Munster, IN 46321.
