Chris Vevers

Chris Vevers, age 44, of Crown Point, IN passed away peacefully, on February 24, 2015 at St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart with his loving family at his side. Chris was born December 25, 1970 in Evergreen Park, IL to the late Edward and Marianne (Avery) Vevers. Also preceding him in death is his brother David Vevers. Left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Dawn (Ortiz) Vevers; his daughter Carrie-Skylar Vevers, brother, Mike (Michelle) Vevers, sister, Lisa (Joseph) Olivotto, and twin brother Scott Vevers: many loving aunts, uncles; nieces, and nephews and one great nephew. He was loving, and devoted Foster Father to many and currently two at home. Also, his faithful companions, Dukie, Chewie, Porky, and Maggie Mae. Chris was in sales for Mike Anderson Chevrolet in Merrillville, he had previously been in sales for Schepel GMC of Merrillville. He was a faithful member of St. Mary Catholic Church of Crown Point. Chris was a car enthusiast and dog lover. He was known for his generosity, compassion, and contagious smile. Visitation will be Friday, February 27, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 S. Cline Ave. Schererville, IN). Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, February 28, 2015 at St. Mary Catholic Church (321 E. Joliet; Crown Point, IN 46307) at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
