Clarence J. Voss age 90, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his children, Robert (Debbie) Voss, Susan (Dave) Blastick, Karol (Dan) Kanelopoulos, Gayle (Pat) O'Leary and James (Laura) Voss; grandchildren, David Blastick, Dan Kanelopoulos II, Tim (Val) Kanelopoulos, Joe Kanelopoulos, Brian (fiancé Amanda Yniguez) O'Leary, Kathleen (fiancé Robbie Conner) O'Leary, Jacob Voss, Luke Voss, Abigail Voss and Jimmy Voss; great grandchildren, Emily Blastick, Danny Kanelopoulos III, Timmy Kanelopoulos II and Claire Conner; many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Preceded in death by his wife, Jean Voss; grandsons, Eric Voss and Jeremy Blastick; 4 sisters and 5 brothers. Clarence was born on August 23, 1927 in Chicago, IL to the late Herman and Susan Voss. He proudly served our country in the US Army and was a member of the VFW Post 717 St. John, IN. On September 22, 1951 he married the love of his life, Jean Delow and together they raised 5 children. Clarence retired from Illinois Bell with over 35 years of service. In his retirement he worked at St. Mary and St. Catherine Hospitals as a communications technician. Clarence enjoyed fishing, coin collecting and spending time with his family. Clarence was a loving son, brother, husband, father and grandfather and will truly be missed by all whose lives he touched. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 Cline Avenue Crown Point, IN) with Pastor Scott Weinkauff officiating. Interment to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens Crown Point, IN. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 from 4:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.
