Curtis H. Humpfer, Sr. age 85, of Merrillville, IN passed away Sunday, December 15, 2013. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Belva (nee Radeck); four children: Mark (Louella) Humpfer, Cindy (Randy) Vania, Alan (Evelyn) Humpfer and Nancy Mitchell; seven grandchildren: Mark Humpfer, Jr., Amy (David) Boots, Benjamin and Adam Vania, Christopher Humpfer, Scott (Missy) Humpfer and Paul Mitchell; two great grandchildren: William and Andrew Humpfer; one brother, Carl Humpfer; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Humpfer was preceded in death by his son, Curtis Humpfer, Jr. Friends are invited to meet with the family Tuesday, December 17, 2013 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Ave., (one-half mile south of US 30) Schererville, IN. Cremation will follow service. Mr. Humpfer retired from Laborer’s Local # 41 in Munster and enjoyed working in his yard.
