Obituary of Darin Allen Anderson
Darin Allen Anderson age 47, peacefully passed away on Monday, August 19, 2019 surrounded by his loving family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Amy (nee Garner) Anderson; mother, Cheryl (nee Klein) Anderson; sister, Tara (Scott) Jajowka; niece, Jenna Jajowka; nephew, Aleks Jajowka; parents in law, Dale and Susan Garner; brother in law, Steven (Kimberly) Garner; niece, Kelly Garner; nephews, Eric and Chase Garner; canine companion, Gracie and many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. Preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Anderson and canine companion, Wrigley. Darin was born September 19, 1971 in Hammond, IN and was a graduate of Griffith High School. He went on to earn his Bachelor degree in Accounting from Saint Joseph's College. On September 5, 1999, he married the love of his life, Amy Garner and together they shared 20 years. Darin was employed at Service Master DSI for 11 years where he never was just an employee, but was a member of their family. He loved the people he worked with as if they were brothers and sisters and those bonds will never be broken. Darin was an avid sports fan who loved the Cubs, Blackhawks, Cowboys and Michigan (GO BLUE!!). His passions include fishing, bowling, bon fires and he had an obsession with his smoker and grill. Darin has requested the following quote to be put in his obituary. "Everyone, please come as comfortable as possible to my wake. If your idea of comfy is a suit and tie, please feel free to wear that....YUCK! As for me, I will be wearing a World Series Champion Cubs T-shirt!! I would like all my sports crazed friends and family to celebrate my life in shorts, jeans, and most of all, your favorite sports shirt, jersey or sweater." Darin was a loving son, brother, uncle, cousin, husband and friend and will truly be missed by all whose lives he touched. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 23, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 Cline Avenue Crown Point, IN ) with Rev. Mark Wilkins officiating. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Thursday, August 22, 2019 from 4:00-8:00 PM and on Friday morning from 9:00 AM until time of service at the funeral home.
