David A Pierce

David A. Pierce, age 64, of Dyer, IN passed away Thursday, August 22, 2013. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Kathleen (nee Morales); two sons: David Pierce and Robert (Crystale) Pierce; one step-son, Raymond Sotelo; two granddaughters: Katie and Kellie Pierce; two step-grandchildren: Michelle and Matthew Sotelo; three brothers: William, Jim, and Danny Pierce; three sisters: Wanda Hamilton, Kathy Pierce, and Vickie (Mark) Vicksinich; many nieces and nephews; and canine friend, Buddy. Mr. Pierce was preceded in death by his parents: Cecil and Linnie Pierce; and brother, Richard Pierce. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Ave., (one-half mile south of US 30) Schererville, IN with Rev. Steve Kosinski officiating. Cremation will follow service. Friends are invited to meet with the family Monday, August 26, 2013 from 3:00-8:00 p.m. (Prayer service 3:30 p.m.) at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. Mr. Pierce retired from the Ford Assembly Plant (Hegewisch), with 38 years of service. He was an avid bowler and golfer. David was also a handyman and a hard worker who will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
