He is survived by his loving wife Brittany Rutledge; his beautiful daughters, Aubrey and Summer Rutledge; his parents, Ronald and Christine Rutledge; his sister, Jaclyn (Christopher) Utley; his niece and nephew, Brooklyn and Hunter Utley; his brother-in-law, Cody (Kelli) Moczynski; his nieces and nephews, Kara, Cole, and Kamri Moczynski; his mother-in-law, Susan Barnes; his grandmother, Mary Helen Payonk; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, John Paul and Betty Rutledge; his grandfather, Eugene Payonk; his grandparent-in-laws, Mary Jo and Roy Beilfuss.
David was a loving father and husband who enjoyed spending his time watching his daughters partake in cheer and soccer. He also loved spending his time with his family at concerts, sporting events, and family trips. David was employed at Unilever for 21 years and created many relationships with his work family. He was loyal and had everlasting friendships. David will always be remembered as a loving, fun, and adventurous father, husband, brother, son, and uncle.
A visitation for David will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2026 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at LifePoint Church, 9414 Kennedy Ave, Highland, IN 46322. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 9, 2026 at 12:00 pm at LifePoint Church. Burial to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crown Point, IN.
