Dennis W. Hamilton

DENNIS W. HAMILTON GARY, IN age 66, of Gary, Indiana, passed peacefully on July 2, 2015 at Franciscan Health Centers of Munster with his loving family at his side. Dennis was born November 18, 1948, to the late Norman R. and Blanche A (Bainbridge) Hamilton. Also preceding him in death are his step-mother, Billie Hamilton, and a sister, Barbara Jean Hamilton. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Carolyn (Lee) Hamilton; daughters: Betty Ann (John) Bremer and Tamera (Bill) Panagiotidis; sons: Mark W. (Carmen) Hamilton, and Tyson (Leann) Rickey; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; sister, Linda (James) Novak; brothers; Larry Hamilton and Allen (Judy) Hamilton. Mr. Hamilton was a pipefitter for Amoco/BP in Whiting for over 18 years. Before that he was at Sinclair for many years. He selflessly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, receiving the bronze star. Dennis was a member of the Disabled Veterans Association, and Veteran of Foreign Wars of Hessville. Mostly, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Visitation will be Monday, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 S. Cline Ave; Schererville, Indiana 46375). Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Parnell officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens with military honors.
