Dennis Lee Winn III

Dennis Lee Winn III, age 22 months, of Merrillville, Indiana, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2015 with his loving family at his side. Dennis was born October 5, 2013 in Oaklawn, Illinois to Dennis and Rachael (Nagrocki) Winn, both whom survive. Also surviving are his maternal grandparents, Cyndi Keir and Ron Fouts; paternal grandparents, Dennis (Terri) Winn and Barbara Bosenbark (Billy Gornik); maternal great grandmother, Marilyn Fouts; paternal great grandmother Mary McGeever. Aunts and Uncles Alicia Keir, Jennifer Fouts, Eddie Fouts, Gregory (Nicolle) Winn, Matthew Winn, Christie (Chris) Haworth, Kellie (Trey) Wedgeworth; cousins, Arriana, Aidin, Makhia, Kaleigh, Sydney, Samuel, Nyssa, Joe, and Spencer; puppy Lilly, and numerous other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by maternal great grandparents, Shirley Ross, Harry Nagrocki, and Harry Fouts; and paternal great grandparents, Agnes and Bill MCCoy, and Jim McGeever. In his short, but meaningful life, Dennis gave hope and inspiration to his family and many others in his extended family at the PSHU & 2Hope of Advocate Children's Hospital, Ronald McDonald House, Chasing Dreams, Jacob's Ladder, First Steps, and Down Syndrome Association of Northwest Indiana. His family would like to thank all mentioned and UAW Local #551. People were captured by his smile, and admired him for his strength and perseverance. Dennis was born with CHD and even undergoing four heart surgeries he smiled and brought joy to those around him. Dennis died only knowing love and happiness in his heart. Visitation will be Sunday, August 16, 2015 from 1:00-8:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Monday, August 17, 2015 at 11:00 am at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 S. Cline Ave; Schererville, Indiana 46375). Burial will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be directed towards Ronald McDonald House of Oaklawn in the name of "Team D-Trey".
