
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald, Sr. and Mildred Fancher; as well as his sisters, Gerri, Nancy, and Barb.
Don will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 64 years, Geraldine Fancher; his children, Jennifer (Ken) Drenth, Donald (Monique) Fancher, and Mike (Karen) Fancher; his grandchildren, Kenny (Katie), Casey (Kylee), Alex (Jenni), and Amber (Jake); and his treasured great-grandchildren, Brianna, Grace, Iyla, Indy, Minnie, Rory, and Ozzy, who brought him immense pride and joy.
A proud veteran, Don honorably served in the United States Army for two years. He had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and found great enjoyment in duck and goose hunting, as well as sporting clay shooting. Above all, he cherished every moment spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the center of his world.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 am on Friday, April 24, 2026 at St. Michael's Parish, 1 West Wilhelm Street, Schererville, IN 46375. Burial to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307.
