Donald J. Merchant age 77 passed away on July 3, 2010. Donald is survived by his brothers; Howard (Nova) Merchant, Robert (Nancy) Merchant, sisters; Jeanne Merchant, Mary Keith and Evelyn (Ron) Duffala. Donald is preceded in death by his parents; Norman and Lydia (nee: Moeller) Merchant, and two sisters; Shirley Brown and Elaine Merchant. Donald served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and was a proud and devoted American Patriot. Donald retired from Youngstown Steel and was a member at 1st Christian Church of Hessville. Donald will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him. Family and friends may gather on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at the 1st Christian Church of Hessville 6733 Alabama Avenue Hammond, IN from 9:30 am until time of service 11:00 am with Dan Nichols, officiating. Interment Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Donald’s memory may be given to the 1st Christian Church of Hessville.
