Ellen Nicole Nutley

Ellen Nicole Nutley, 18 of Schererville, IN, passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2011. She was born November 30, 1992 to Joseph Nutley and Mandy (nee Hubner) Nutley-Leahy. Ellen is survived by her father, Joseph Nutley; mother, Mandy Nutley- Leahy (Dennis Leahy); brothers: Max Nutley and Joseph Leahy; sisters: Jessica Leahy and Julia (James) Ingerly; nephews: Ayden and Caleb; paternal grandmother, Lois Nutley; and maternal grandparents: Maria and Charles Hubner "Oma and Opa". Also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. Ellen will always be remembered by her father Joseph as "Dad's Little Peanut". Ellen was a Senior at Lake Central High School, St. John. She was a very artistic and creative young woman who loved life deeply, was always especially compassionate towards others, and would always give as much as she could to help someone else. She enjoyed music, was always joyful, often spontaneous and sometimes even silly. Certainly Ellen was a unique, one of a kind individual who always encouraged others to be happy, joyous and free. In the spirit of giving to others, Ellen indeed lives on through her donations to the Gift of Hope Donor Network. There will be a visitation for Ellen at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, Schererville, IN on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM. A memorial service will be held for Ellen at the funeral home at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 12, 2011 with Pastor Mark Wilkins officiating. The family has requested that preferred memorials in remembrance of Ellen be given to any of the following organizations: Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Salvation Army of Gary ARC or Rosecrance in Rockford, IL.
