Eric was a great kid and a fine young man.  Such a huge loss and I still think of him a lot.  So much fun watching him play.  Still hugely missed today.

We Are De Sales
That was the rally. What a team that was in 1988 on way to
State basketball finals in Champaign . Eric & all his team mates. They were a fun team To watch. My family & I followed them all the way. My wife & I were married at her church St. Columba. My wife’s step sister & step brother went to De Sales. She is from Massachusetts. I’m from Harvey ,Illinois .We watched IU games with Eric onTV. Hard to believe Eric is now gone from that basketball court.

Growing up with Eric, I would always say "How's the weather up there?" I must have said it to him a 1,000 times, but he always smiled and said "Great, how's the weather down there?", I know it was just a silly game that kids play, but Eric, I have to ask one last time "How's the weather up there?" Rest in peace and know the kids in he neighborhood always looked up to you.

Eric and I met when we were 15 washing cars on weekends at Apple Chevrolet. The day started w Eric's contagious laugh, he was too big to fit in the backseat to wash windows. The laughs continued for 33 years. It was just on Thanksgiving that we shared more laughs over the phone and we were thankful for the friendship that we had continued.  Most of those years were in opposite states but we never failed to pick up where we left off as good friends do. You will be greatly missed, as I was looking forward to share many more memories Big E. 
You are gone but NEVER FORGOTTEN-- the memories will certainly live on..

So saddened from what I just found out today. I remembered this young man's talents as if it were last year, we always enjoyed Eric and IU play basketball and didn't miss many games on TV from his college career.  Please accept our condolences, our hearts are with you and God Bless.    

I met Eric when he visited Michigan with his good friend Tony when I was in high school.   He was the kind of person that everyone wanted to be around.  His energy was contagious and everyone fed off of it.  He was always the life of the group.  I loved being one of the guys in his golf foursome, because you knew you were going to be laughing the entire round.  The last time I saw Eric was this summer and he hadn't changed a bit.  I will miss his smile, and the energy he brought every time we were together with his closest friends.

I will always remember Big E's smile and positive outlook on life.  He became a very close friend and brother these past years in Sag Harbor and when we visited him in Chicago.  Everyone loved the man and he was always there to add a story or be a big part of a new adventure.  He was a proud dad and loved his family and friends dearly.  I will miss his waxing philosophical, his long gait, competitive spirit, and big big heart.  

Prayers go out to you Rita at this sad time as we remember Eric and your girls playing in your back yard from our back yard on 133rd St. many years ago.  You were great neighbors and Eric was an inspiration to the kids at St. Columba.  God bless you and your dear family.  Carol, Rick & Betsy Kulpa

Mrs. Anderson & Family:   Our son, Jon was roommates  with Eric and Eric was in his wedding here in Brazil IN.  We LOVED Eric just like he was another son.  Our other son, Jeff, was also IU Manager and was close to Eric as well.  Our family grieves with you...and prayers being said for your family.  Eric was so loved by many. Eric Walfred Anderson III (48) of Carmel Indiana, passed away on December 9, 2018.   He was born May 26, 1970, to Eric and Rita (Tominac) Anderson. 
He was a devoted father to his only son Samuel Eric Anderson (20) of New York.  He was preceded in death by his father Eric W. Anderson Jr. in 1989.  He is survived by his mother Rita of Crown Point Indiana , his sister Karen (Anderson) Forajter also of Crown Point Indiana and sister Ami (Anderson) Vargas of Valparaiso Indiana.
