Eugene R Fields

Fields, Eugene R. Cedar Lake, IN, age 87, passed away on March 11, 2013. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Marie Fields; loving children, Randy (Linda) Fields, Rodney (Rhonda) Fields, and Penny (Luka) Kljajic; beloved grandchildren, Stacy, Stephen, Carie, Tony, Cory and Caitlyn; dear great-grandchildren, Tori, Jacob, Ethan, Lucas, Ryan, Simon, Laney, Mackensey, Lukas and Aubree. Preceded in death by his granddaughter, Christine Fields. Eugene proudly served his country in the US Army during WWII. He retired from Inland Steel in East Chicago, IN after 27 years of employment. He loved sports and was an avid woodworker making grandfather clocks. He served as an Elder at Community of Christ Church in Highland, IN for many years. Eugene was also a member of St. Anthony Auxilliary Volunteer for 6 years. Eugene will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 15, 2013, 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 Cline Ave Schererville, IN) Elder Austin Ludwig and Elder Keith Dutton officiating. Interment Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
