Frank Robert Sapyta, Sr.

He is survived by his children, Frank (Jamie) Sapyta of Las Vegas, NV, and Susan (Carey) Priest of Oswego, IL; four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and very dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Eva Sapyta; wife, Evelyn Sapyta; his brothers and sisters, Walter Sapyta, John Sapyta, Julie Hightower, Helen Conley, Mary Brink, Stanley Sapyta, Sophie Kornas, Caroline Smith, Jennie Gordon, Ann Eubanks, and James Sapyta.

Frank was born January 16, 1935 in Hammond, IN. He attended Hammond Technical High School. He worked his entire career and then retired at DuPont Chemical Company. He enjoyed spending time at Wicker Park Golf facility, he played Pinochle four times a week, and he loved fishing and bowling. Mostly, he enjoyed spending time with his very large family and close friends. Frank was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him and especially all of us who loved him.

Memorial visitation will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN, 46307, on November 3, 2025, from 11:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 pm.
