Georgia M. Nightingale

She was born on May, 29, 1933 to the late Carl Calvin and Claudia Irene Russel) Pool in Calumet City, IL. On May 12, 1951 she married George Nightingale, who has since preceded her in death in September of 2009.

Georgia loved to take care of her family, loved to cook and garden, especially her pink peonies. She enjoyed dancing and her friends and of course making sure her purse never left her sight. “G-G” or “ZaZa” as she is affectionately known as by her great-grandchildren will be truly missed.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Pamela (Charles) Hendricks; two doting sons, Jim (Mary Ann) Nightingale, Rodney (Cristina) Nightingale; five grandchildren, Jodi, Jeff, Kevin, Kelly, Abby; three great-grandchildren, Charlie, Jack, Theo; two brothers, Don and Richard Pool; two sisters, Joyce Judson, Sharon Arcella; and step-brother, Bob Steffan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Claudia Pool; brothers, Carl and David Pool; sisters, Barbara Copeland, Sandra Pondo, Claudette Steffan; and step-sister, Marie (Steffan) Thorp.

Family and friends will be received from 4PM-8 PM on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, Crown Point, IN. An additional hour of visitation will take place from 10AM-11AM on Thursday, March 28, 2019 prior to the service.

A Funeral Service in Mrs. Nightingale’s honor will be held at 11AM on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Ave. Crown Point, IN 46307. Georgia’s son, Rodney Nightingale will be officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
