Harlan B. Ford, age 85, of Crown Point, passed away Friday, June 17, 2011. He is survived by his three children: Linda (Duane) Smith of St. John, James (Elizabeth) Ford of Markle, IN and Deborah (Alan Ross) Wright of Schererville; six grandchildren: Timothy (Sara) Smith of Chicago, IL, Tonya Negele of Cedar Lake, Nicholas Wright of Valparaiso, Brandi Wright of Merrillville, Jason Ford of Markle, IN and Adam Ford of Fort Wayne, IN; ten great-grandchildren; one bro- ther, Cicero Ford of Cromwell, KY; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Ford was preceded in death by his wife, Loray "Shorty". Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Ave., (one- half mile south of US 30) Schererville, IN with Rev. Bob Parnell officiating. Interment to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Monday, June 20, 2011 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. Mr. Ford retired from U.S Steel (Gary Works) and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp during WWII.
