Helen Morris Guritz

HELEN GURITZ CROWN POINT, IN FORMERLY OF HOBART, IN, age 92, of Crown Point, a former long time resident of Hobart, IN, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2015 at St. Anthony Hospital of Crown Point, with her loving family at her side. Helen was born September 13, 1923 in Chicago Heights, IL, to the late James and Mabel (Brady) Morris. Also preceding her in death are her loving husband of 53 years, Vernon Guritz; and brothers, Francis, James Jr., Ronald, and William Morris. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Vickey (John Reuter) Wentland, Diana (the late Ralph) Carniello, and Linda (George) Fulghum; grandchildren: Elaine, Cheryl, Gregory, Dawn, Paige, JoLynn, George, Michael, Susan and Craig; many loving great grandchildren; and siblings: Glenn Morris, Joseph Morris, Kenneth Morris, Carrol Morris and Robert Morris. Mrs. Guritz worked for Ribordy's , later Walgreens as a cosmetologist. She was a faithful member of St. Mary's Church of Crown Point, and a former member of her home parish, St. Bridget of Hobart. Helen was a selfless and devoted caretaker for many generations of her family. She will be deeply missed by those who loved her. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 11, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 S. Cline Ave.; Schererville, IN 46375). Funeral services will be Thursday, November 12, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home with Fr. Patrick J. Kalich and Sr. Joanne Marie Schutz SSCM officiating.
