

Herman J. Larson, age 89, of Highland, IN passed away Saturday, January 14, 2012. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Dorothy (nee Nordberg); beloved father of four children: Sharon (Jim) Dudzik of Schererville, IN, James (Kathy) Larson of Knox, IN, William (Kristy) Larson of Topeka, KS and Donna (Jon) Zaley of Schaumburg, IL; devoted grandfather of eight grandchildren: Mark and Brett Dudzik, Rachel, Juli, Zachary and Lilly Larson, Nathan and Ben Zaley; two loving brothers: Richard (Darlene) Larson and William Larson all of Kansas; one loving sister, Shirley Mitschke of Kansas; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Larson was preceded in death by his parents: Peter and Lois Larson; brother and sister-in-law: Clayton and Ruby Larson; and brother Robert Larson; sister and brother-in- law: Iona and Elvis Dye; and nephew, Marc Larson. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at 12:00 Noon at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Ave. (one-half mile south of US 30) Schererville, IN with Pastor Karl A. Frincke officiating. Interment to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, IN. Friends are invited to meet with the family Wednesday, January 18, 2012 from 10:00 a.m to 12:00 Noon at the funeral home. Mr. Larson was retired from Monosol Corporation and was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hammond, IN. He was a graduate of Valparaiso University. Mr. Larson was a veteran of the U.S. Army-Air Corp during WWII and was a member of American Legion Post #180 of Highland, IN. He also enjoyed bowling and dartball. Memorial contributions may be made in Herman's loving memory to the church.
