James Marty Nees

Marty was born on November 12, 1958 in Peoria, Illinois to James W. and Donna Lee (Taylor) Nees. His mother preceded him in death and Mr. James W. Nees survives in Houston, Texas.

Also surviving are his children Cody Ryan Nees and Emily Jean Nees both of DeMotte, Indiana. Also, his sister Christie Pfaff of Houston, Texas, and his brother Monte Nees of Houston, Texas and his dear close cousin Lyle (Cindy) Freeman of Rensselaer, Indiana, many nieces and nephews, and his former spouse and friend Patricia M. Nees-Krueger.

Mr. Nees was master carpenter and worked for the Union Local #54. He was skilled working with residential and commercial construction. He took great pride working for the union, and appreciated being part of something big and with a lot of talent. He was involved with building towers at Midway Airport to building many homes in the Lake County area. He mainly loved working with his hands. But his proudest moments were when his children were born. He was a loving and devoted family man.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Monday, February 17 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 Cline Ave.; Schererville, IN 46375) with Rev. Rob Dorow officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, from 2-8 pm at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. Burial will be at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
