Janet Kay Gentle age 80, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 with her loving family by her side.

She is survived by her children, Doreen (Carlos) Bustamante, Rick Hernandez, Kelli Molina, Terri Hernandez and Anthony (Elizabeth) Bustamante; many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Tom (Lynne) Sherman; sister, Diane (Gary) Williams; many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Preceded in death by nephew, Donald Domogala.

Janet was born September 24, 1940 in Hillsboro, IL to the late Charles Edward and Melba Roberta Thunehorst and was a graduate of East Chicago Roosevelt High School. She worked as a cook at Puntillo's Restaurant for many years , and worked as a maintenance janitor for LTV Steel for over 20 years. Janet enjoyed playing games on her computer, watching her NBA games on TV, crocheting and talking on the phone to everyone!

Janet was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend and will truly be missed by all whose lives she touched.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at 7:00 PM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 Cline Avenue Crown Point, IN) with Pastor Rebecca Sundquist officiating.

Friends are invited to meet with the family on Thursday from 4:00 PM until time of service at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the family to help with expenses.

Due to the current conditions of Covid-19, masks are required for attendance at funeral home.
