Joey W. Hegyi, age 70, of Crown Point, passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2011. He is survived by his four children: Deborah (Michael) Luarde of Fort Wayne, IN, Dennis Hegyi of Cedar Lake, Kathleen Hegyi of Chicago, IL and Joseph (Laura) Hegyi of O'Fallon, MO; five grandchildren: Alyssa and Cameron Luarde, Morgan, Sophia and Claire Hegyi; stepmother, Louise Hegyi of Schererville; uncle, James (Bernadine) De Young of Schererville, IN; former wife, Irene Adams of Cedar lake, IN; and many cousins. Mr. Hegyi was preceded in death by his father, Peter Hegyi. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 21, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Wilkins officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, IN. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Sunday, February 20, 2011 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Ave., (one-half mile south of US 30) Schererville, IN. Mr. Hegyi was a retired Electrician. He was a veteran of the US Navy serving on the USS Submarine Halfbeak.
