John will be lovingly remembered for a life filled with hard work, family, and simple joys. A truck driver for more than fifty years, he took great pride in his work and in providing for those he loved. He also owned and operated an ice cream shop, creating sweet memories for many. John found happiness in feeding the deer and birds, playing golf and Bingo, cheering on his beloved Cubs, meeting up for monthly breakfast with the boys, and taking his children to amusement parks when they were growing up. He especially cherished making Thanksgiving dinner for his family and attending sporting events with his grandson. His love, generosity, and devotion to his family will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
