Joyce Anita Montella

Joyce was the loving wife of 68 years to the late John J. Montella; beloved mother to Jan (Margaret) Montella, Gregory Montella, Kathie (Joel) Triemstra and Dr. Anthony Montella; proud grandmother to Brittany (TJ Beaulieu) Montella, Blake (Carly Spirakes) Montella, Lisa (Michael) Lubanovic, James (Megan) Montella, Jessica (Justin) Akers, Tyler (Katie) Triemstra, Jordan (Leah) Triemstra, Jonathon Montella and Julianna Montella; great-grandmother to Graham, Aliya, Aiden, Maya, Carver, Annie, Jack, Clark and Levi; cherished sister to Jodie Cockrum, the late Tony Reynolds, the late Shirley Keene, and the late Linda Barnes; aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Joyce always embraced her roots from Kentucky and enjoyed going to Bluegrass concerts with her husband, John, meeting new friends along the way. Joyce and John eventually started hosting Bluegrass Jam sessions. She was an avid reader and loved writing letters to loved ones. Joyce displayed her love for her family by keeping a perfect home and with her cooking, especially her Italian wedding soup. After her family was raised, she loved taking care of her dog, Poncho. She will be dearly remembered as tiny, but mighty and always THE BOSS.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 17, 2025 from 9:00 am until the time of her funeral at 11:00 am at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
