In 1958 she married the love of her life, Donald Anoskey, who survives. Also left to cherish her memory are her sons, Mark (Kim) Anoskey of Highland, Tim (Bonnie) Anoskey of Sacramento, CA, and Daniel (Connie) Anoskey of Avon, Indiana; grandchildren, Nicholas (Amanda) Nowak of Griffith, Natalie (Michael) Nelleman of Schererville, Dustin (Rachel) Worley of Virginia Beach, VA, Daniel (Erin) Worley of Folsom, CA, Donald (Jennifer) Worley of Sacramento, CA, Sam, Luke, Katie Anoskey of Sacramento CA, Craig and Ben Anoskey of Avon, IN; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Geneva DeVault, Imojean Lester, Mary Haywood and Charlotte Cain, all of the Lafayette, IN area; many nieces and nephews; and special friends John and Lynda Hastings of DeMotte. After raising her three boys, Kathryn returned to school and received her B.A. degree from Purdue Calumet in nursing and worked as a registered nurse for St. Margaret Mercy in Hammond in their pediatric unit. Twelve years ago she and her husband retired to Crown Point after living in Hammond for forty-two years. She and Don were faithful member of Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church of Merrillville. Kathy thoroughly lived her life to the fullest. Despite her fears, she went skydiving on her 70th birthday, rode around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in a NASCAR, and zip lined in Mexico. With husband Don and her friends from the Crown Point YMCA, she loved to travel throughout the country. Kathy was the life of any gathering. Her smile and infectious laugh would light up the room, she glowed with adventure. Her generous heart filled her home with love, fun, family and friends, including an attitude that there was always room for one more. She leaves all her children and grandchildren with the knowledge that they were truly loved. As Kathy would say “It is what it is.” Visitation will be Tuesday, July 5, 2016 from 4-8 pm at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 S. Cline Ave.; Schererville, Indiana 46375).
