

Kenneth Joseph Nowak, age 77, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2025, in Valparaiso, IN. Born on September 29, 1947, in Chicago, IL, Kenneth lived a life marked by dedication—to his family, his work, and his country.
Kenneth proudly served in the United States Navy, demonstrating a deep commitment to service early in life. Following his military tenure, he embarked on a long and successful career with UPS as a semi operator. Over the course of 35 years, Kenneth earned recognition and respect for his accomplishments and professionalism. His work ethic and reliability left a lasting impression on colleagues and customers alike.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Sharon Nowak; his children, Danny (Melina) Miles, Jennifer Nowak, and Kenny Blattner; and stepchildren, Carrie Komorous, Christine (Rod) Sturgill, Aaron (Heather) Poss, and Kelly (Iggy Felix) Poss. Kenneth was also a devoted brother to Kathleen Walker.
As a grandfather to Kayla, Karli, Vicki, Brittney, Bailey, DJ, Giovana, Jordan, Brandon, Kaitlyn, Kelsey, Kaylie, Zachary, Reanna, Rocky, Erica, Sarafina, Chase, Anna, Jackson, and Bennett—and great-grandfather to two—Kenneth’s legacy continues through generations who will carry forward his memory. He was also an uncle to many nieces and nephews, who cherished his presence in their lives.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Anne and Joseph Nowak.
What an incredible life Kenneth led. His dedication to his family, community, and country is truly inspiring. May his memory be a blessing to all who knew him.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 9, 2025 from 12:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307. Funeral services will be Thursday, April 10, 2025 at 10:30 am, also at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
