

Laverne A. Seberger, age 87 of Griffith, passed away Friday, January 21, 2022 at Northwest Hospital in LaPorte, Indiana. She loved her family, the Chicago Cubs, chocolate, bowling, golf, playing cards, and telling you exactly what she was thinking. She was the toughest, strongest person her family will ever know.
She is survived by four children: Clara (Kurt) Clark, Michael (Gina) Seberger, Tom Seberger, and Stephen (Jennifer) Seberger; 10 grandchildren: Jessica (Joseph) Daniel, Christopher (Erin) Clark; Sarah (Alex Finke), Alison, and Morgan Seberger; Melissa (Nick) Graham, Amanda (Diego Reynoso) and Emily Seberger; Haley (Tyler) Hendricks, and Max Seberger; two great-grandchildren: Carl and Cole Daniel; two brothers, Clarence Raab and Lawrence (Josephine) Raab; two sisters: Margaret Broholm and Virginia (Donald) Sorota. She decided she was done waiting and it was her time to be reunited with her beloved husband Carl, preceding her in death.
Also preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Clara Raab; brothers, Edward, Victor, Fred and Robert Raab; brother-in-law, Kenneth Broholm; sisters, Rosemary Stepien and Evelyn Reid; sister-in-law Joanie Raab.
She was a longtime member of St. Mary Catholic Church, member of St. Mary’s Rosary Society, Catholic Order of Foresters, and loved to golf at Wicker Park, walk at both Wicker Park Lincoln Center and Griffith Senior Center, and play cards at Griffith Senior Center. Her family wishes to thank the many wonderful people who helped us care for her over the last few years including but not limited to Brentwood Independent Senior Living Center in La Porte, IN; Symphony of Dyer in Dyer, IN; and Senior Helpers at home services in Griffith, IN.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 28, 2022 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Griffith at 10:30 am with a Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Theodore Mens. Burial will be held at Chapel Lawn Cemetery following the mass. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday from 4:00-8:00 pm at Kuiper Funeral Home in Highland, Indiana and on Friday at St. Mary’s Church from 9:30 - 10:30 am.
