Margie Zia

Margie Zia (nee Davis), age 69, of St. John, IN, passed away on November 22, 2025. She is survived by her husband of forty years, Anjum Zia; daughter, Candice (late Ivan) Santiago; grandsons, Tony and Cisco Santiago; brothers, Oscar and Pete Davis; brothers-in-law, Sohail (Riffat) Zia, Qamer (Ana) Zia, Tariq (Fakhra) Zia, and Nadeem (Zermina) Zia; sisters-in-law, Mussarat (Shahid) Shahid, Nighat (Altaf) Altaf, Farhat (Asif) Asif, Nusrat (Khalid) Khalid, Nuzhat (Abid) Abid, and Sarwat (Arsalan) Arsalan; as well as several nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Margie was preceded in death by her son, Angel "Butch" Alvarez; parents, Thomas and Dora Davis; sisters, Linda, Maggie, and Jenny; and brothers, Bob, Billy, James "Tiny," Andrew, Donald, Terry, and Wayne "Mooch."

Visitation will take place on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN, from 4:00 until 7:00 pm. A funeral service for Margie will be held on Friday, December 5, at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, beginning at 10:00 am. Burial to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Margie was a special woman to so many people. She will be truly missed by her husband, daughter, grandsons, and so many others. She enjoyed life, she enjoyed traveling, and she loved shopping, but most of all, she enjoyed her family. Red was her favorite color, so if you wish to wear red to honor her at the service, please do. We know she is in peace and, most of all, she is with her son, Butch.
