Matron "Ms. Cookie" Toney

Matron Ann Toney "Ms. Cookie", 76, of Hammond IN entered into our Lord and Savior's eternal presence surrounded by her loving family on September 6, 2022. Matron was born in Bowling Green, KY, spending most of her childhood in Bowling Green, KY, before moving to Hammond when she was a teenager. In Hammond, Matron owned a cleaning business for several years. She then went on to be one of the main cooks on the AmeriStar casino boat. Cooking, baking, along with her flowers, were her passion, as well as her strong faith in God.

Family was first to this matriarch. She lived her life by example; working hard, loving deep and forgiving endlessly. Her favorite pastime was conversation and a good laugh with family and close friends.

Matron is survived by her husband of 45 years, Randolph Toney, and her four children, April Calvert of Mequon, WI, Anthony (Kim) Puntillo, of Indianapolis, IN, Michael (Dana) Toney of Pleasant Hill, CA, and Nikki (Gus) Toney, of Gary, IN. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Krystal Puntillo, Elijah Toney, Jessica Puntillo, Gustavo Valdez, Jr., Jordan Aguilar, Alexus Blackwell, Jaidan Aguilar, Jailon Aguilar, Cameron Puntillo, and Sabrina Puntillo. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren, Janae Raggs, Jawaun Raggs, Jamyah Raggs, Malachi Puntillo, and Kylee Williams. She is also survived by her siblings, Jackie Calvert and Rodney (Jerrie) Hayes.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Calvert and Vera (Garrett) Hayes.

Per the family's wishes, Visitation and the Funeral Service will be held privately on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307. Pastor Michael Toney will be officiating. Burial to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in the Garden of Freedom.
