

Michael was born April 29, 1935 to the late Daniel and Mary Flesher. He married the love of his life, Celia (nee Vasquez) Flesher in 1955. They raised a beautiful daughter and spent many loving years together. Michael worked at Cleveland Cliffs as an electrician for 47 hardworking years. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Michael was a boy scout leader, a little league coach, and a coach for his daughter's track team. He was a member of the Duneland Rose Society and a member of the Old Timers Club. Michael volunteered his extra time at Our Lady of Guadalupe and often worked festivals there and at Our Lady of Grace. He was a die hard Cubs fan and a Notre Dame and Indiana University football and basketball fan.
Michael is survived by his loving daughter, Shirley (Lon) Baczkowski; his granddaughter, Michelle Baczkowski; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Celia Flesher; his sisters, Ann Snyder and Mary Flesher; his brothers, Nick and Eli Flesher; and his mother-in-law, Maria Vasquez.
A visitation for Michael will be held Thursday July 10, 2025 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307. An additional visitation will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025, from 10:00 am to 10:30 am at Our Lady of Grace, 325 Highway Avenue, Highland, IN 46322, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am. Burial to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
