Monica Guzman

Monica Guzman, age 45, of Wheatfield, IN, passed away on June 29, 2026. She was preceded in death by her twin boys, nephew, Jonathan Guzman, and grandmother, Aurora Lopez. Monica is survived by her beloved labradoodles, Patron and Chapo; siblings, Edith Guzman, Miguel (Araceli) Guzman, Daniel (Marie) Guzman, and Francisco (Laura) Guzman; nieces and nephews, Marcos and Damian Guzman; Miguel Angel and Christopher Guzman; Daniel, Isabella, and Diego Guzman; and Crystal and Francisco J. Guzman; and parents, Francisco and Celia Guzman.

Services will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, located at 8178 Cline Ave., Crown Point, with visitation from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 pm. Burial to follow at Chapel Lawn Cemetery.

Monica will be remembered for her remarkable strength, determination, and unwavering work ethic. She dedicated nearly sixteen years to Cleveland-Cliffs Mill, where she broke barriers by becoming the first female roller in the 80-inch Hot Strip Mill, earning the respect and admiration of her coworkers through her hard work and perseverance. Beyond her career, Monica found her greatest happiness in spending time with her beloved sister, Edith, her cherished nephews, Damian and Marcos, and her faithful labradoodles, who brought her endless joy and companionship. Her legacy of resilience, love, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
