

PATRICIA SPAIN (DIBBLEE) TALLAHASSEE, FL Patricia Spain (Dibblee), 86, of Tallahassee, FL passed away July 23, 2013. Prior to moving to Florida in 2011, she was a resident of Munster and Hammond for over 80 years. Pat was born on March 18, 1927 to Lucille and Kenneth Dibblee. She attended Lafayette School and was a graduate of Hammond High School. She married Paul Spain on October 25, 1947. Pat was a former employee of Illinois Bell Telephone as a long distance operator, a Girl Scout leader, and a teacher's aide at Lafayette Elementary School, where she also served as PTA President. She received an honorary life membership in the Indiana Congress of Parents & Teachers Association. Pat loved to play Pinochle with her special friends and participate in local arts and craft shows. She was a proud Democrat. Pat is survived by daughters: Peggy (Gary) Trimble of Walker, MN and Patti Spain of Tallahassee, FL; granddaughters: Stefinie Storms, Stacie (Ryan) Corrigan, and Shellie Trimble, all of MN; great grandchildren: Zachary and Katelyn Storms and Claire, Jenna, and Shane Corrigan; special cousin, Janet Bowen of Valparaiso, IN; and many special friends. She was preceded in death by husband, Paul in 1986; and parents: Kenneth and Lucille Dibblee. Funeral services will be held at Chapel Lawn Cemetery on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at 1:00PM with Rev. Jason Jones of First Christian Church, Highland, officiating. Friends may call from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM prior to the service which will immediately follow visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to a local humane society or Alzheimer's Association.
