Peter Joseph Propsom, IV

Peter is the loving husband to Bernice Collins; devoted father of seven to Adrienne Propsom, James Propsom, Jakob Stancil, Peter Propsom V, Loretta (Henry) Johnson, Deray Collins and Trevares Collins; proud grandfather to Lucy Stancil, Arianna Propsom, James Johnson, Carolyn Johnson, Henry Johnson III, Arya Collins, Levi Elkins and Logan Elkins; cherished brother to Lori, Christie and Susan; and uncle to many.

Peter was a 1981 graduate of Portage High School. After high school, Peter enlisted in the United States Navy. He honorably served for 11 years, mainly attached to the USS Stonewall Jackson submarine. Peter then served at the United States Post Office, serving mainly at the Gary and Miller branches. He retired from the US Post office as supervisor. Peter was a master carpenter and woodworker. He was a family man, and enjoyed spending time and being with his family. His love and devotion for those he loved will always be remembered.

Visitation will be Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 10:00 AM until the time of his Memorial Service at 11:00 AM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307. He will have a private burial at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery at a later date.
