Richard Paul LeVine (“RP”), age 75, of Crown Point IN, passed away August 30, 2026. RP will be remembered as a voracious reader, talented musician, avid chess player, entertaining babysitter, and astute observer of political events. RP not only enjoyed music of all genres, he had the talent to play a multitude of instruments. Practicing chess and guitar with his son, Jason, was a favorite pastime, and he enjoyed playing Pinochle and taking road trips as well. He had an extensive knowledge and awareness of events current and past – and could talk for hours if you were willing to listen!
RP is preceded in death by his son, Jason, and his wife, Jorga Gay; his parents, Kathryn and Richard LeVine; his sister, Elliot-Ann LeVine Wecker; his brothers-in-law, Gary, Terry and Tom Wecker; and his uncle, Glen; and aunt, Jackie Younker.
He is survived by his siblings, Edward “Pappy” (Jenifer) LeVine; Marjorie LeVine Terry; Helen-Elaine LeVine (Michael) Gregor; Howard (Nancy) LeVine; Peggy LeVine (Joe) Mecyssine; numerous nieces and nephews; and next-door cousins, now far-flung.
