

On August 19, 1961, Richard married Jeannett Pruitt at Trinity Lutheran Church; she survives.
They both loved and adored the family they created. Richard spent 39 1/2 years as an electrician, being able to retire with US Steel. He was a tremendous provider to his family and had an amazing talent with people. Richard was an avid parishioner of the Dyer Baptist Church and liked to keep active as an usher within his church community. He simply loved anything to do with bowling and was able to coach bowling for 40 years. He coached many highly decorated bowlers throughout the region, several going on to compete at the collegiate and national levels. His traveling consisted of heading to various bowling tournaments. His family will remember his supreme fascination with race cars and drag racing. Richard was able to build a race car which he named, "Friendly Persuasion." He loved American History, the Chicago Cubs, and spending time with his family.
Richard leaves behind his loving wife of 60 years, Jeannett Tucker; three children, Rick (Kathi) Tucker, Cheryl (Jim) Rhoades, and Scott (Michelle) Tucker; seven grandchildren, Brookelyn and Madisen Tucker, Kayla (Jimmy) Ogden, Chenoa (Jessy) Bauer, Zach Rhoades, and Nolan and Gracelyn Tucker; two great-grandchildren, Christian and Kinley Ogden; one brother, Kenneth Tucker; and many nieces and nephews.
He is welcomed into everlasting life by his parents, Kenneth and Alvina Tucker; and two siblings, Marietta Milligan and Susie Fulmer.
A public visitation for Richard will be held Monday, January 3, 2022 from 10:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 1:00 PM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307. Pastor Lee Atkinson will be officiating. Burial to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in the Garden of Good Shepherd.
