It saddens me that Rick was called home way too soon. I too remember him as the cool cousin. After all, he was in a rock band and truly had a free spirit.  He was never "too cool" to say hello to me when we stopped by and was always respectful to Uncle Joe and Aunt Romaine.  Aunt Josie did a good job raising Ricky to be a wonderful and loving Dad, son, husband, cousin and decent human being.  His loss will be felt by many.  Our deepest sympathy during this difficult time.

We were so shocked to hear of cousin Ricky's passing. It is so sad and heart breaking when someone leaves us too soon. As a kid, I remember that I always thought he was so big and tall and he was in a band! A real rock and roll band! I thought that was so cool! I even had a crush on one of his bandmates. As I look at pictures of Ricky I see bits of my dad and all of the Sosnowski boys. To the entire Zawacki family, please accept our condolences and know that you continue to be in our thoughts and prayers.

Sorry to see you go so soon cousin Rick.  I remember thinking how cool it was to have my cousin Shasta in a rock-n-roll band!  To the entire Zawacki family, I wish you peace.     Love Sue

We are all saddened and shocked to cousin Rick's passing.

I remember cousing Rick and I cutting thru gang-way's in South Chicago getting to Capri Pizza that much quciker to pick up a pizza.  The day I fell and scraped my knee was the end of that fun and both aunty Josie and my mom told us to stay on the sidewalks.

Also recall Rick's band and how they once played in my dad's driveway only to blow fuses with uncle Rich and my dad saving the day to "rigging" something up for the show to go on.

We are sad to hear of Rick's passing.  It's hard to accept when God calls a family member home, sooner than we think he should go.  As difficult as it may seem and as sad you may feel, Rick would not want us to be sad.  Rick would want us to celebrate his life.  My memories of Rick include someone that was always fun and carefree.  He was mellow and soft spoken.  Those memories will live on in our hearts and Rick's spirit will live on through his children.  May the dear Lord who has so graciously called him home, bless Rick and help his family through their sorrow.  Our thoughts and prayers to Rick's family.

It's so sad to hear of Ricky's passing. we are in shock and feel great sadness.
I remember my cousin mostly as a little boy with short brown hair and a big, big smile. Rick was so smart, even at that young age. He could talk and talk and talk. That little boy grew up and became a husband, father, and Grandpa.
When he was working downtown, John and he would run into each other in the pedway. It would be "Hi, how are things. Good. Gotta go."

We are so very sad to hear about Ricky's death.  Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time.  As a kid growing up I remember thinking he was one of the "coolest guys" I knew.  I loved his sense of humor.  He was certainly one of my mom's favorites.  
I firmly believe he has joined some other pretty cool family members.  We will see all of them again one day, but until now and then all we have is their love in our hearts and memories of a good life lived.

We will miss you Rick.  You are such a wonderful son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and cousin.  Your laugh and great sense of humor will be missed.  You are with your father, grand parents, Aunts and Uncles.  Our hearts go out to the Zawacki family.  We will pray for you all.

I am deeply sadden to hear about Rick's passing, for nearly fifty years I had the honor to say he was my friend. I will always treasure the memories of our childhood and the adventures we shared together. My heart goes out to the Zawacki family for your loss.Rick was a good man and a close friend.
