His family is heartbroken by his loss, but grateful for the many years of love, laughter, and memories they shared.
Born on August 30, 1951, in Hammond, IN, Robert was the son of Robert and Thelma Mulvihill. He graduated from Griffith High School and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in business from Indiana University. In 1977, he married the love of his life, Alice “Sue” Runyan, and together they built a life centered on family, raising their two sons, Jason and Michael.
Robert will be remembered for his deep love of the outdoors, especially his passion for fishing, and for the joy he found in spending time with his grandchildren. He had a playful spirit and was well known for his unforgettable shenanigans, which brought laughter and light to those around him. Above all, he was devoted to his family, always placing them at the center of his life.
He is survived by his sons, Jason and Michael; his cherished grandchildren, Shea, Nolyn, Tabitha, Donovan, and Nash; and his sibling, Terry. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Thelma; his beloved wife, Sue; and his brother, Rick.
Robert will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the many lives he touched. His family invites all who knew him to share a story, a memory, or one of his legendary shenanigans in his honor. Rest in peace, Dad, Grandpa, and Friend.
