Ronald J. Schneider

Ronald was born August 13, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Otto and Mary Schneider. Also preceding him in death are his sister Frances Schneider, and his brother Fred (Ruby) Schneider.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 47 years, Judy Schneider; children, John Schneider, Wendy Schneider, Dawn (Dave) Fravel; grandchildren, Brittany Schneider, Devin Fravel, Briann Fravel, and Lorenzo Schneider.

Immediately after high school Ron enlisted in the United States Army, and honorably served during the Vietnam War. Returning home he began working for ACME Steel Company of Riverdale, Illinois, which is now MIttal Steel Company, until his retirement after 41 years of service, in 2008. He was an avid deer hunter and fisherman. Ron was an ultimate family man, who enjoyed taking care of his family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and will be greatly missed by all who loved him.

Visitation will be Monday, September 25, 2017 from 4-8 pm at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 Cline Ave. Schererville, IN 46375). Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at 10:00 am with Fr. Steve Kosinski officiating at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. Burial will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
